BAREFOOT TRIMMING
I’ve been trimming professionally now for around fifteen years. I have extensive experience with many pathological issues as well as transitioning from shod to unshod & laminitis. The results I’ve achieved in corrective work speak for themselves as well as my many loyal clients.
I have been upskilling with power tools to address the bigger thicker hooves & doing a much more efficient job resecting for seedy toe. I’m so impressed with the results that I can now offer this additional service to client’s horses where required. Apart from being physically easier on me, it eliminates any torque & twisting on the hoof & pastern as a result of the applied force with the nippers. I can do a super effective & neat job of resecting the seedy toe with zero discomfort for the horse.
I travel only to existing clients in my local area.
I was initially trained by Jeremy Ford & have undertaken further training in equine bodywork, science, mobility & biomechanics as well as behaviour. I skillfully address pathological challenges, hoof & body related gait abnormalities. I offer a reliable straight forward service with mobile eftpos facility for convenience.
Friendly Tips
No horse is immune from getting a hoof abscess
No horse is immune from getting a hoof abscess but if your hoof maintenance is not up to scratch, your horse is at much higher risk. Particularly if the hoof is overgrown, cracked, broken away, has seedy toe, thrush, unhealthy frogs or chalky soles, you are directly putting your horse at risk. A hoof abscess is extremely painful as it bursts it’s way through good tissue, trying to find a way out.
